Asscher cut, as a stepped square cut, was created in 1902 by the Asscher brothers of Amsterdam , Holland . Sometimes, asscher cut is also called the square emerald cut, because it is almost identical to the emerald cut, except with a square outline. Like emerald cut, when you purchasing an asscher cut diamond, make sure to review its clarity plot on the diamond certificate and also be strict with its color. Asscher cut was popular during the 1930s period, and has recently come back. A high quality asscher cut will surely give you an antique and vintage taste.
